The National Instruments 1742 Smart Camera, powered by a 533 MHz PowerPC processor, is a real-time target for machine vision. The high-quality Sony CCD image sensor acquires monochrome VGA (640 x 480) resolution images at 60 frames per second. Camera I/O includes two optoisolated digital inputs, two optoisolated digital outputs, one RS232 serial port, and two gigabit Ethernet ports. The NI 1742 also features quadrature encoder support and a direct drive lighting controller that can drive current controlled lights up to 500 mA continuous or 1 A strobed.
You can program the NI Smart Camera with the NI LabVIEW Real-Time and NI Vision Development modules or configure the camera with NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (AI). The NI Smart Camera includes a fully functional copy of Vision Builder AI software to configure the camera.
